Description
The Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall is one of the main cultural venues in Yerevan and an important symbol of the architectural heritage of Armenia. Located in the center of the capital, the hall is a unique space that combines historical significance, expressive architecture and modern facilities for hosting musical and cultural events.
The building was designed by the distinguished architect Alexander Tamanyan and completed by his son Gevorg. The architectural complex combines winter and summer areas with two amphitheaters and separate stages. In 1937, the project was awarded a Gold Medal at the Paris International Exhibition, and the official opening of the concert hall took place in 1953.
Over the years, the venue has been renovated several times. In 1979, the hall received the name of the great Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian, and in the early 1980s a large-scale reconstruction took place, as part of which the seats and stage equipment were updated. Today the hall can accommodate 1,300 spectators and continues to be one of the most important centers of the country's musical life.
The stage of the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall hosts symphony concerts, performances by artists, cultural programs and other significant events.
