Description

The Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theatre is one of Istanbul's most renowned concert venues, located in the Harbiye quarter of Şişli. This open-air amphitheater combines a rich history inspired by ancient architecture with modern cultural facilities. The auditorium seats 3,972 people, and the facades and stands, crafted from stone quarried in the Uzunköprü district, give the theater a unique architectural appearance.

The venue's history began with a design by French urban planner Henri Prost, which was completed in 1946 with the participation of Mayor Lütfi Kırdar. The theater welcomed its first audiences in 1947, and in 1958 it was named after Cemil Topuzlu. German director Karl Ebert made a significant contribution to the venue's development, transforming the theater into a modern space for concerts, theatrical productions, and other large-scale cultural events.

The Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open Air Theater features an orchestra pit for 80 musicians and a spacious stage that can accommodate up to 300 participants in large-scale productions. It hosts concerts by renowned artists, festivals, theatrical performances, film screenings, and other events. Well-thought-out infrastructure, wide aisles, and a conveniently organized space ensure the comfort and safety of spectators.
